You know what they say…no question is a bad question….

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can you begin my project, and how long does it usually take to see my design?

Times can vary depending on the project. During our initial discussions and/or in your design quote I will let you know what my schedule looks like, where you will be in the queue, and an approximate date to start work. All projects are different, but the more detailed you can be in our initial talks and throughout the proofing process, the quicker we will reach our goal. If communication fails at any point, the design process will definitely be prolonged. More information about this and other important items can be found on the Design Process & Policies page.

How much does a logo design cost?

This varies, and depends on several factors. The primary being the complexity of the illustration. I know some designers have one price that they charge for logo design, but I don’t find this to be fair to all involved. For instance if you’re wanting a primarily text-based logo with some basic design elements, I certainly wouldn’t charge as much as I would for something involving heavy illustration. I also offer discounted rates to non-profits, as well as for those needing a design ‘package’.

Can you recommend a host and/or cart service?

Definitely! I can personally and highly recommend Creo Communico (formally Iris Marketbuilder) for both basic hosting or for your e-commerce site. I’m a stickler for fabulous customer service, and have always been thrilled with the service my clients receive here (so thrilled that I recently switched my hosting to Creo as well!). Creo is an environmentally-friendly company (a huge plus for me), providing wind-powered hosting.

Some other highly recommended and user-friendly services can be found here.

Do you offer printing services, or can you recommend a printer?

While I don’t offer printing services, I’m happy to pass along vendors that previous clients have been pleased with. Please take a look at my Recommended Vendors page for more information.

Can you change my current design?

Unless you have written consent from the previous designer and have purchased the copyright to the design, I am not legally able to change an existing design.

Will you use the illustration I purchased from istockphoto.com?

While I prefer not to use any stock art or images (unless we’re working with a photograph to which you have the rights of course), if you absolutely want to use a file that you have found, you must provide proof of purchase and licensing, as well as documentation from the designer that you have the right to use the file in your design.
